We are looking for a highly organised and professional School Receptionist to join our busy front office at Ellis Guilford School in Nottingham. As the first point of contact for students, parents, staff, and visitors, the School Receptionist will play a key role in creating a welcoming and efficient school environment. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for someone who thrives in fast-paced settings, has excellent communication skills, and is committed to delivering outstanding administrative support. Your Role as a School Receptionist

As a School Receptionist, you will be the face of the school, responsible for managing the front desk and delivering high-quality customer service and administrative support. Duties include greeting visitors, handling phone calls, maintaining student records, and assisting with daily school operations.

Responsibilities of the School Receptionist

As part of your daily responsibilities, the School Receptionist will:

  • Welcome and assist all visitors, staff, and students in a friendly and professional manner.

  • Manage incoming calls, emails, and queries with efficiency and discretion.

  • Support school-wide administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and communications.

  • Work collaboratively with the wider administrative team to ensure smooth operations.

  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of the role.

Ideal Skills and Experience for the School Receptionist Role

To thrive as a School Receptionist, you should bring:

  • GCSEs A–C (or equivalent experience).

  • Previous experience as a receptionist or in a fast-paced admin/customer service role.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • The ability to stay calm under pressure and manage multiple tasks.

  • A positive, proactive, and organised approach to work.

Job Details and Application Process

  • Location: Nottingham

  • Salary: £22,067 – £22,771 per annum (Grade C NJC 4–6)

  • Hours: Full-time, 37 hours/week, 41 weeks/year

  • Contract: Permanent
