Science Technician – Join a Dynamic Education Team
Are you passionate about science and eager to contribute to a vibrant learning environment? We are looking for a dedicated Science Technician to support our science department in delivering engaging and interactive practical lessons. This is a permanent role, offering 35 hours per week, 39 weeks per year. The salary is NJC Grade D (£25,992 – £27,711 FTE), pro-rata based on hours and weeks worked.
Key Responsibilities of a Science Technician
As a Science Technician, your primary duties will include:
- Preparing and organizing equipment and materials for science experiments.
- Assisting teachers and students during practical lessons.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations in the laboratory.
- Managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and maintaining laboratory resources.
- Conducting routine maintenance and cleaning of laboratory equipment.
Qualifications & Skills Required
To be successful in this Science Technician role, you should have:
- A strong understanding of laboratory procedures and science equipment.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety protocols in an educational setting.
- Previous experience as a laboratory technician (preferred but not essential).
