Job Requirements:

To apply, you must:

  • Be a Registered Nurse or Midwife with active NMC Registration and substantial post-registration experience (newly qualified Nurses/Midwives will not be considered).

  • Hold English and Mathematics qualifications equivalent to Level 2 (GCSE grade C/4 or above).

  • Have at least 120 academic credits at Level 5 (for BSc) or Level 6 (for PGDip).

  • Be available for the 13-month full-time training course starting September 2025 and completing in October 2026, with a combination of academic and practice placements.

Key Details:

  • Salary: £29,970 to £32,324 per annum.

  • Location: Community, Wigan Lane, Wigan, WN1 2NN.

  • Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week).

  • Interview Dates: 13th & 15th May 2025.

Main Duties & Responsibilities as SCPHN Apprentice (Health Visiting):

  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team to promote health and well-being for children and families.

  • Complete 50% of your training in academic settings and 50% in practice placements across different locations.

  • Develop skills in comprehensive health assessments, safeguarding children, and collaborating with families and communities.

  • Lead initiatives to improve health outcomes and support families in adopting healthier lifestyles.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Maintain professional accountability in all aspects of client care.

  • Participate in clinical governance and quality assurance initiatives.

  • Complete mandatory training and engage in continuous professional development.
