Security Engineer – Remote

Job Summary:

Direct Travel is hiring a Security Engineer (Remote) to lead the implementation and optimization of security controls across a Microsoft-first environment. You will manage key tools such as CrowdStrike Falcon, Zscaler ZIA/ZPA, and email-security platforms, while working closely with cross-functional teams to maintain strong security posture and meet compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure and manage Microsoft security tools: Azure AD Conditional Access, Intune, Defender, etc.

• Administer CrowdStrike Falcon, Zscaler Zero Trust, and Barracuda email security.

• Maintain hardened builds and asset inventories across Windows, Linux, and macOS.

• Translate frameworks (GDPR, NIST CSF, ISO 27001, etc.) into technical controls and KPIs.

• Manage IAM, SSO, and RBAC across cloud and on-prem systems.

• Lead network segmentation, firewall rule reviews, and zero-trust initiatives.

• Support vulnerability management and system hardening efforts.

• Coordinate with vendors for tool selection, licensing, and integration.

Qualifications:

• 1–2 years of cybersecurity experience.

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft security stack (Azure, Intune, Defender).

• Experience managing at least one: CrowdStrike, Zscaler, Barracuda.

• Familiarity with Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL) and macOS security.

• Exposure to at least one compliance framework: GDPR, PCI, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or NIST CSF.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship provided).

Preferred Skills:

• Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Azure Security Engineer.

• Scripting/automation with PowerShell, Bash, or Python.

• Experience in CI/CD or DevOps security environments.
