As an Information Systems Security Officer, you’ll be responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing key security documentation such as System Security Plans (SSPs) and Security Assessment Reports (SARs). You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, test, and validate security requirements for HRIT and HCM systems while ensuring federal compliance standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain System Security Plans (SSPs), Security Assessment Reports (SARs), and other security documentation.

  • Work with application and project stakeholders to define and implement security controls for HCM systems.

  • Conduct thorough security testing and validation prior to deployment to identify vulnerabilities and propose mitigations.

  • Track, monitor, and report on compliance status across HRIT modules.

  • Collaborate with clients to document system requirements and ensure secure design implementations.


What You’ll Bring as an Information Systems Security Officer

Your expertise will ensure system security, compliance, and integrity within high-impact federal government projects. This position is ideal for professionals with a strong background in cybersecurity and hands-on experience managing federal information systems security documentation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

  • Over 6 years of experience in information security, preferably in ISSO or equivalent roles.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting federal government security initiatives.

  • Active Public Trust clearance.

  • Strong knowledge of federal compliance frameworks and HCM security systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with enterprise tools such as PeopleSoft, Workday, and JIRA.

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and data analysis.

  • Familiarity with Section 508 Compliance standards.

  • Privileged user certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CAP, CISSP, or equivalent).

  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
