We are currently seeking a skilled and self-motivated Joiner to join our team on a self-employed basis. This is a great opportunity to work within a dedicated, experienced crew on varied and interesting projects.

Role Summary

As a Joiner, you will be responsible for fabricating, installing, and assembling wooden structures and fixtures to a high standard. You will work from drawings and specifications using a range of hand and power tools. This position requires experience, precision, and the ability to work in both residential and commercial environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and work from technical drawings and design plans.

  • Fabricate and install timber components (e.g. doors, windows, staircases, frames, partitions).

  • Use hand and power tools effectively and safely.

  • Ensure all work is level, plumb, square, and in line with specifications.

  • Carry out heavy lifting and manual handling where necessary.

  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

  • Collaborate with other trades on-site to ensure smooth project delivery.

  • Conduct self-checks and ensure compliance with building codes and health and safety regulations.

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven joinery/carpentry experience (minimum 5 years preferred).

  • NVQ Level 2 or higher in Joinery/Carpentry (desirable).

  • Proficient in the safe use of tools and equipment.

  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings.

  • Strong eye for detail and a high standard of workmanship.

  • Good understanding of health and safety protocols.

  • Physical fitness to handle the demands of the role.

  • Full UK Driving Licence (preferred).

  • Reliable, punctual, and a good communicator.

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday (Day shifts)

  • Overtime may be available depending on project timelines
