AMETEK Specialty Metal Products (SMP) produces high-purity metal products—including powder, precision tubing, and strip—in materials like stainless steel, nickel alloys, and titanium. Serving critical industries such as aerospace, medical, nuclear, and oil & gas, SMP emphasizes safety and quality across its global operations. The Strip Business Segment includes manufacturing facilities in Wallingford, CT, and Lancaster, PA.
We are seeking a Senior Plant Accountant to support financial operations for the Strip Segment. Reporting to the Segment Controller, this role is responsible for financial reporting, analysis, and daily transactional processes including AP, AR, CAPEX, and cash management.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations

Support audits and ensure compliance with SOX and internal controls

Oversee fixed asset tracking, capital spending, and depreciation

Analyze and report operating and labor costs, inventory, and variances

Prepare key financial metrics and management reports

Collaborate with operations and provide ad-hoc financial insights
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business

5–7 years of relevant experience; manufacturing background preferred

Strong analytical, communication, and Excel skills
-
ERP system experience a plus
