This Senior Accountant role is a hybrid position based in Bethesda, MD, with four in-office days per week. The salary range is $84,757 to $137,443, with potential for additional compensation based on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and post journal entries for general ledger, accruals, and month-end closing

Reconcile balance sheet accounts and analyze monthly variances

Manage intercompany accounts and maintain fixed asset records

Process bi-weekly payroll and monitor Federal Reserve Bank (FRB) account activity

Oversee accounting for investments, leases, and other real estate owned

Support compliance efforts including SOX documentation and internal audits

Update standard operating procedures and serve as back-up for key accounting functions

Act as a second-level approver for vendor payments and assist with federal reporting
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Minimum 8 years of accounting experience, including general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close

CPA required (Master’s in Accounting may be considered in lieu of certification)

Strong knowledge of accounting systems and Microsoft Office (Excel proficiency required)
