TLC Child and Family Services, a leading Northern California agency committed to the belief that “Different is Beautiful,” is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee our general accounting functions. Reporting to the Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records in accordance with GAAP. This position demands dedication, precision, and a commitment to our mission of providing relationship-focused care to youth and families.
What you’ll do:
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of billings and payment requests, with correct allocation of expenses to general ledger accounts.
 - Oversee Accounts Payable transactions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation.
 - Prepare bank reconciliations for all corporate accounts.
 - Manage cash receipt transactions, including data entry and reconciliation to the general ledger, and ensure timely deposits.
 - Prepare and send monthly billing statements to placement and contract agencies.
 - Supervise bi-weekly payroll processing, review payroll reports, and journalize entries to the general ledger.
 - Ensure timely tax reporting by the external payroll service and other jurisdictions.
 - Maintain accurate accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger, managing full-cycle accounting procedures.
 - Prepare monthly reports comparing actual expenses to budget.
 
What you’ll bring:
- In-depth knowledge of full-cycle accounting and GAAP standards.
 - Strong ability to compile, analyze, evaluate, and interpret financial data.
 - Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
 - Keen attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 - Experience with cloud-based accounting software (NetSuite a plus).
 
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
 - 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit setting.
 - Ability to obtain and maintain required background clearances.
