About the Role:

Medline is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic Technical Accounting team within the Global Controllership group. Based in Northfield, IL, and reporting to the Manager of Technical Accounting, you’ll be at the forefront of interpreting and implementing complex accounting principles across our global operations in over 100 countries. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on cutting-edge accounting topics, collaborate with diverse business partners, and contribute significantly to Medline’s financial reporting excellence.

What You’ll Do:

  • Conduct in-depth accounting research and draft memos for intricate transactions.
  • Support the review of significant contracts and other complex accounting areas.
  • Develop global accounting policies, including the adoption of new guidance and related controls.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in areas like debt, derivatives, equity, share-based compensation (ASC 718), lease accounting (ASC 842), and more.
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement disclosures for technical accounting areas.
  • Contribute to projects focused on process improvements and internal controls for financial reporting.
  • Support new business initiatives and system integrations impacting financial statements.
  • Prepare key financial deliverables for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and document the adoption of new US GAAP pronouncements.
  • Provide accounting expertise and analyze subsidiary financials for audit risk.
  • Assist with interim and year-end audit processes.
  • Handle other ad-hoc tasks and projects as needed.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • At least 2 years of corporate accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work with large datasets.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • Public accounting experience, particularly with SEC engagements.
  • Experience in a multinational manufacturing/distribution company.
  • Experience with complex global consolidations.
  • Proven technical accounting acumen and research skills.
  • Strong analytical, teamwork, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Experience with Sarbanes Oxley 404 internal controls.
  • Experience with external reporting tools (e.g., Workiva Wdesk) and consolidation systems (e.g., Tagetik, Oracle EPM, BPC).
  • Experience with cash flow statement preparation/review and change management.
  • Project management and cross-functional collaboration experience.

Compensation & Benefits:

The anticipated salary range for this role is $79,560.00 – $115,440.00 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This role is also bonus/incentive eligible.
