About the Role:
Rochester Midland Corporation (RMC), a leading global specialty chemical manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant for our Rochester office. Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, you will be a key player in executing critical accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial processes that support our business objectives. This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.
Your Impact:
As Senior Accountant, you will:
- Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and roll forwards, with preferred familiarity in cost accounting.
- Maintain schedules for prepaid expenses, amortization, and other accruals.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and consistent application of accounting policies.
- Manage accounting processes for mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, PPA, and consolidation.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and operating information, including accruals and inventory valuations.
- Collaborate with the Senior Accounting Manager, Corporate Controller, and FP&A on financial reporting packages and audit support.
- Provide timely financial analysis and support for company-wide business needs, including custom reporting.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis to evaluate business decisions.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
- CPA is preferred.
- Experience with merger & acquisition transactions is preferred.
- 6+ years of experience in various accounting functions with a strong understanding of GAAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft GP is a strong plus.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and manage deadlines under pressure.

Physical & Work Environment:
