About the Role:
As a Senior Accountant at Lewis, you will play a key role in the timely and accurate preparation and analysis of US GAAP-based financial statements and reports, including supporting the year-end audit. You will collaborate closely with operations and parent company accounting leadership.
Your Impact:
- Prepare and ensure accurate and timely general ledger journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assist with the month-end close process and analyze financial data.
- Develop complex accounting analytics to partner with business operations.
- Complete general accounting tasks and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Research and provide guidance on US GAAP for new processes.
- Maintain a strong internal control environment.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Stay current with GAAP standards and recommend company policy updates.
- Assist with general ledger system maintenance.
- Establish, document, and implement efficient accounting policies and procedures.
- Maintain organized computer and paper files.
- Perform other duties as needed in a dynamic environment.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- At least three years of experience in financial statement preparation and analysis.
Bonus Points:
- CPA preferred.
- Proficiency in standard office equipment and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Experience with general ledgers and mobile technology.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and effective financial data analysis skills.
- Sound judgment in subjective accounting analysis.
- Focus on being a strong business partner.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong administrative, analytical, organizational, and planning abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lead and develop others.
- Knowledge of vegetation management or the utility environment is a significant plus.
