About the Job: Senior Accountant

We’re seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Accountant to lead our accounting and finance functions. You’ll be responsible for the complete month-end close, including journal entries and reconciliations, managing bank transactions, and overseeing A/P, A/R, and payroll processes. Special projects will also be part of your responsibilities. This is a 40+ hour per week role reporting to the President.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full month-end close process, including journal entry preparation with supporting documentation.
  • Record all bank transactions and reconcile GL to bank statements by the 5th working day.
  • Oversee A/P, A/R, and payroll functions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, payments (checks, ACH, wire), and credit card transactions.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including inquiries, credit applications, and W-9s.
  • Reconcile the accounts payable aging monthly.
  • Review employee expense reports for compliance.
  • Prepare customer invoices and assist with credit and collections, including weekly aging reports.
  • Handle special projects as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 1+ years of accounting experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, CGMA, and/or MBA are a plus.
  • Prior experience with MRP accounting software; SAP Business One experience is a plus.
  • Strong ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Experience leading an accounting department.
  • Positive, team-oriented approach with strong technical accounting, financial planning, and analysis skills.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn.
  • Hands-on experience with cost accounting.
