As an Accountant, you will assist in managing our accounting systems and reconciliations, ensuring the integrity of our financial statements in accordance with US GAAP. You will play a key role in the monthly financial close process, providing timely and accurate financial information to business leaders. This includes analyzing accounting data and preparing monthly variance analyses. You will also support the Accounting Manager during the annual external audit, prepare journal entries, and perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Ensuring effective accounting controls is also a key aspect of this role. You will act as a liaison between accounting and other business departments, offering guidance on the accounting implications of business decisions, with a major focus in areas such as Compensation, Inventory/COGS, or Sales/Use Tax.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and administration of accounting systems, tasks, and reconciliations.
- Participate in the monthly financial statement close process.
- Analyze and interpret accounting information, including variance analysis.
- Support the Accounting Manager during the annual external audit.
- Prepare journal entries and perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Ensure effective accounting controls are in place.
- Act as an accounting liaison for functional business departments.
- Focus on Compensation, Inventory/COGS, or Sales/Use Tax.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, a related field, or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in accounting and/or finance, preferably in a manufacturing organization.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in manufacturing or cost accounting.
- CPA or CMA designation.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong functional computer knowledge in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with deadlines.
Working Conditions: Occasional walking, manual dexterity, frequent sitting. Travel and chemical exposure are not applicable for this role. Ability to lift, push, and pull is not applicable.
Compensation and Benefits: The national pay range for this role is $64,000 – $94,000 per year, with the actual pay offered dependent on factors such as education, skills, experience, and location.
