About the Job
Join CR&R Incorporated, a leading and innovative waste and recycling company in Southern California (with operations in multiple other Western states), as a Senior Accountant. In this dynamic role, reporting to the Corporate Controller, you’ll be crucial in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, including statements, variance analyses, and ad-hoc reports. You’ll actively contribute to team goals, maintain financial integrity, and have opportunities for professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Manage and participate in the monthly close: journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial report updates.
- Perform monthly balance sheet and expense account reconciliations, analyzing financial results.
- Prepare and record accounting entries for assets, liabilities, revenues, and expenses.
- Reconcile inter-company balances across entities.
- Investigate and resolve unreconciled general ledger balances.
- Assist with tracking workers’ compensation and auto insurance claims.
- Document accounting and control procedures and recommend financial actions.
- Collaborate in the annual audit process.
- Record banking activities and prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
- Review bank reconciliations for accuracy.
- Reconcile and code corporate credit card activity.
- Maintain fixed asset records, including purchases, depreciation, and amortization.
- Assist in the integration of future acquisitions.
- Track capital expenditure against budget and maintain related reports.
- Record and maintain lease schedules and process lease payments.
- Address accounting procedure inquiries by interpreting policies and regulations.
- Perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Required: Prior experience with account reconciliation.
- Experience with MS Dynamics or similar large accounting systems.
- Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills (Vlookups, SUMIFs, Pivot Tables).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proven time management and ability to meet deadlines.
