Our family-owned tax accounting firm is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant (fluent in Mandarin) to join our practice in Philadelphia, PA. We specialize in tax accounting, payroll, and business formation services for individuals, small businesses, and medium-sized enterprises in the Tri-State area. As a purpose-driven boutique CPA firm, we cater to the Asian-American community, and we are looking for talented individuals who want to make a meaningful impact while growing with our business long-term.

Position Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of business and individual clients, ensuring their tax compliance, planning, and accounting needs are met.

  • Prepare and file complex tax returns (1120, 1120S, 1065, 1040, multi-state, and local returns) for clients, including consolidated and foreign income/assets reporting.

  • Drive business development by fostering relationships with existing and new clients to expand the firm’s revenue.

  • Provide tax consultations on tax preparation, planning, business formations, individual taxation, and business taxation to both new and existing clients.

  • Supervise, mentor, and coach assistant staff, participating in their performance reviews to encourage their growth and development.

  • Review tax returns and financial statements prepared by other team members to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to tax regulations.

  • Stay up-to-date with changes in tax regulations that impact our client base and implement these updates into practices.

  • Collaborate with team members to enhance and refine firm processes and procedures.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax preparation, tax review, and staff supervision.

  • CPA license required.

  • Proven track record of success in tax and staff supervision (5+ years preferred).

  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is a must.

  • Strong technical and computer skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and solve complex client issues independently.

  • Team-oriented with excellent collaboration skills, able to delegate effectively when needed.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Minimal or no travel required.

  • Willingness to work extended hours during tax season.

  • A passion for serving and growing the multi-ethnic small business community.

  • Eagerness to lead and develop junior staff, contributing to business scalability.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: $90,000 – $120,000 per year, depending on experience, plus performance-based bonuses.

  • Health insurance coverage available after 3 months.
