The Senior Accountant will support a variety of accounting and internal audit projects focused on clients in the Healthcare sector, including financial statement audits and risk-based internal audits. This role offers a clear path for advancement to Manager, Senior Manager, and Shareholder positions for high-performing individuals at LBMC.

Scope of Work

As a Senior Accountant – Healthcare Audit, you will serve in a consultative role for assigned clients, helping to define project needs and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality audit and accounting services. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading client engagement planning and oversight

  • Conducting in-depth reviews and identifying issues beyond the staff level

  • Preparing thorough work papers in compliance with professional standards

  • Drafting clear technical documentation, including narratives and process maps

  • Performing risk-based audits with strong analytical and communication skills

  • Mentoring and supervising staff and interns

  • Building lasting client relationships to support long-term service growth

  • Upholding professional standards and compliance with AICPA, state, and firm policies


Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA eligible (150 credit hours)

  • 2+ years of public accounting or professional services experience

  • Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Willingness to travel (<15% annually)
