Senior Accountant, Management Company Services at Gen II – New York City (Hybrid)

Join Gen II, a leading global private equity fund administrator ($1T+ AUA), as a Senior Accountant within our Management Company Services team. This role offers the opportunity to support the accounting and financial reporting needs of multiple private equity management company clients. We seek a detail-oriented, organized individual capable of managing diverse accounting projects simultaneously.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage core accounting functions including cash, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, prepaids, and payroll.
  • Contribute significantly to the monthly close cycle, preparing journal entries and financial statements/workpapers.
  • Assist with the accounts payable process.
  • Interface directly with client finance teams (CFOs, Controllers) and liaise with external auditors/tax accountants.
  • Support annual Form 1099 preparation and assist with new client onboarding.
  • Handle ad-hoc financial projects and analyses as required.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 3+ years of business accounting experience, ideally focused on management companies.
  • Experience in outsourced accounting, PE fund administration, or similar client-facing roles is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel (including spreadsheet design).
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, multi-priority environment.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct is advantageous.
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn.

The Offer:

  • Salary Range: $80,000 – $100,000 (based on experience), plus discretionary bonus.
