Job Summary

Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Fellow in Respiratory Medicine at ST3+ level, focusing on Breathlessness. This 12-month post is designed to provide a blend of specialist clinical experience, educational development, and continuity of care in a dynamic respiratory setting.

Ideal for doctors seeking to strengthen their CVs ahead of higher specialty training or broaden their respiratory experience, this post supports personal development in both general and specialist respiratory care, with additional involvement in research, audit, and quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality inpatient and outpatient care in general and specialist respiratory medicine

  • Support the development and provision of enhanced continuity of care and seven-day respiratory services

  • Participate in ward rounds, respiratory clinics, and procedures (including non-invasive ventilation and pleural interventions)

  • Take part in rota-based duties as directed by the department

  • Contribute to local and national audits, quality improvement projects, and clinical research

  • Attend departmental teaching sessions and multidisciplinary meetings

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date clinical records and documentation

  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
