Senior Cloud Engineer – Hybrid (Warwick OR Camberley)
Telent is looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our Network Services division as we continue to expand. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative team, leveraging cutting-edge technologies while collaborating with a diverse customer base.
This hybrid role allows for remote work, with occasional travel to a nearby office (preferably Warwick or Camberley). The ideal candidate will have expertise in on-premise infrastructure as well as Microsoft Azure, as our current environment is primarily on-premise. Due to the nature of our clients, UK Security Clearance eligibility is required.
About the Role:
As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will be a key technical resource for both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a high level of service delivery and customer satisfaction. You will act as a technical lead, bridging the gap between Engineering, Service Delivery, Projects, and the Service Desk teams.
Additionally, you will support Professional Services and Sales initiatives, serving as a Cloud evangelist with expertise in on-premise and Azure environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a technical lead for nominated customer accounts, providing expertise and guidance.
- Act as an escalation point, mentoring and coaching internal teams to enhance service quality.
- Train engineering staff and customers on on-premise and Microsoft Azure solutions.
- Monitor customer incidents, proactively identifying trends, security threats, and technical bulletins.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation related to customer networks.
- Adhere to internal and external processes, ensuring updates and reports are effectively managed.
- Assist with Proof of Concept (PoC) scenarios, type approvals, and pre/post-change lab testing.
- Create and review technical documentation, including TA, PoC, RFC, WI, and SoW documents.
- Lead or support pre-staging of equipment for deployment at customer sites.
- Participate in customer-facing meetings, including support reviews, project roadmaps, and incident reviews.
Who You Are:
- Experienced in supporting enterprise-grade data center (DC) and cloud infrastructure.
- Technically proficient in Cloud, On-Prem, and Microsoft Azure environments.
- Strong work ethic with a sense of pride and ownership.
- Hands-on experience with cloud technologies and a passion for staying up to date.

Required & Preferred Skills:
✅ Required:
- VCP – VMware Certified Professional 6 (Data Center Virtualization)
- VCP – VMware Certified Professional 6.1 (Network Virtualization)
- MCSE: Cloud Platform & Infrastructure (or equivalent experience)
- MCSE: Productivity (or equivalent experience)
✅ Preferred:
- VCIX – VMware Certified Implementation Expert (Network Virtualization)
