Senior Cloud Engineer

Role Overview: As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining scalable cloud infrastructure, while implementing best practices for CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), logging, monitoring, and automation. You will leverage emerging technologies, platforms, and applications to ensure our business remains secure, efficient, and adaptable.

What You’ll Do:

• Technical Leadership: Lead the development and architecture of EKN’s DevOps platform, providing direction and guidance to development teams. Identify and address risks to ensure the team meets its objectives. Document best practices for application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.

• Collaboration & Partnership: Partner with software development teams and leaders to identify and implement optimal cloud-based solutions for the company.

• Quality & Security Focused: Drive the implementation of technically sound solutions that meet quality and security standards.

• Problem Solving: Resolve complex technical issues by applying analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the team’s collective goals, offering regular feedback and pushing for continuous improvement. Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle for cloud-based solutions, including planning, defining requirements, development, and testing. Stay informed about new technologies and tools to manage, control costs, and secure the cloud platform.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, with a focus on AWS.

• Expertise in cloud environments like AWS and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform or similar).

• Strong knowledge of AWS services (EKS, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda).

• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Proficient in CI/CD pipeline management tools (GitHub Actions or similar).

• Solid scripting experience in Python or Bash.

• Expertise in networking, security, and system administration.

• Familiarity with version control systems like Git and project management tools such as Jira.

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, customer-focused approach.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a software developer, including full-stack AWS Cloud Native development with Typescript and/or Python.

• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, DataDog, Sentry, CloudWatch).

• Knowledge of database management and optimization.
