Role Overview

The Bilingual Senior Copy Editor ensures consistency and quality across English and Spanish Language Arts (ELA & SLA) curriculum products. This role involves editing, proofreading, and reviewing existing materials, tracking errata, and collaborating with writers, copy editors, language specialists, and digital producers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review lessons edited by copy editors and address style/content queries.

  • Facilitate communication between copy editors, writers, language specialists, and designers.

  • Edit and proofread digital and print curriculum materials.

  • Identify and correct content inconsistencies, errors, and style issues.

  • Verify accuracy of quotes, references, and external content.

  • Ensure alignment between student and teacher edition content.

  • Document and communicate style decisions to the team.

  • Manage small projects and participate in special projects as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of copy editing experience in both English and Spanish.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.

  • Native-level proficiency in Spanish and advanced command of English.

  • Strong understanding of grammar, punctuation, and writing conventions in both languages.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Extreme attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field.

  • Experience with K–8 English and Spanish language arts curriculum.

  • Knowledge of English and Spanish literature and literacy.
