Company Overview
Established in 1974, Second Harvest of Silicon Valley is one of the nation’s largest and most trusted food banks, dedicated to ending local hunger. Through a network of nearly 400 community partners, the organization distributes nutritious groceries at drive-thru and walk-up sites across Santa Clara and San Mateo counties.
The soaring cost of living in Silicon Valley, coupled with the economic downturn from the COVID-19 pandemic and rising inflation, has significantly increased food insecurity. As a result, Second Harvest now serves an average of 500,000 people each month.
Beyond food distribution, the organization connects individuals and families to federal nutrition programs and local food resources, while actively advocating for anti-hunger policies at the local, state, and national levels.
