What to Expect

Join JLR as a Senior Data Engineer and play a pivotal role in driving our digital transformation!

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, managing, and engineering diverse data sets using state-of-the-art tools, ensuring seamless data integration across the organization. Your work will support our digital initiatives by guaranteeing the data is accurate, reliable, and delivered in a timely manner.

You will oversee the entire data architecture, including storage, pipelines, and platform interfaces. Additionally, you will manage the data layers for digital products, engage in requirements modelling, testing, and define the flow of data from input to storage, integrating with analytics tools or user-facing software.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Design, create, test, and maintain data pipelines to support digital projects.
  • Assemble complex datasets to support various applications and teams across the business.
  • Identify, design, and implement process improvements in data pipelines—automating manual processes, improving scalability, reducing run time, and optimizing costs.
  • Build infrastructure that ensures cost-effective, scalable, and robust data pipeline operations.
  • Develop analytical tools and solutions that empower the business to make data-driven decisions and extract actionable insights.
  • Translate business challenges into data analytics requirements, delivering value through data analysis, model development, and dynamic, data-driven solutions.

What You’ll Need

  • Previous experience working in roles related to data analytics, software or application development, or database development.
  • Proven experience in designing data models and data architecture.
  • Expertise in creating and conducting tests, including unit testing, data quality testing, and assumption testing.
  • Familiarity with modern programming languages and scripting languages, such as Python or Java.
  • Experience with SQL development and relational or no-SQL databases.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure.
