Role: Senior Data Scientist – New York, NY (#Hybrid)
As a Senior Data Scientist, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving Lyft’s growth and operational efficiency through data-driven insights. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including product, engineering, marketing, design, and operations—to inform strategic decisions, design impactful experiments, and develop robust analytics frameworks that shape the future of our platform.
Key Responsibilities

Apply data analysis and modeling to uncover opportunities for business growth and operational improvements

Collaborate with stakeholders across product, engineering, design, and marketing to turn insights into strategic action

Design, execute, and analyze A/B tests; communicate results clearly and inform product launch decisions

Build analytical frameworks and dashboards to monitor product performance and business health

Define and track key metrics related to rider and driver experience
Qualifications
Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or Engineering)

5+ years of professional experience in data science, analytics, or a related field
Technical Skills:

Advanced proficiency in SQL, capable of writing optimized queries for large datasets

Experience with data programming and visualization using Python or R

Expertise in experimental design and statistical analysis
Soft Skills:

Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to influence cross-functional partners and drive alignment

Work Environment & Compensation
This role follows a hybrid in-office schedule, with required in-office presence on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

Base salary range (NYC area): $148,000 – $185,000
Note: Compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and geographic location. Equity, bonuses, and benefits are not included in this range.
