About the Role
CDM Smith is seeking a highly skilled Senior Oracle Database Administrator to join our team remotely. In this role, you will manage and support multiple Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) environments while providing secondary support for other database platforms such as AWS Redshift, Microsoft SQL Server, and cloud services. As a Senior Database Administrator, you’ll optimize database performance, troubleshoot issues, automate routine tasks, and ensure business-critical applications run efficiently across hybrid and cloud environments. Key Responsibilities for a Senior Database Administrator

Manage and maintain Oracle EBS environments, ensuring high availability and recoverability.

Install new products and interfaces based on business needs.

Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL and PL/SQL scripts.

Tune concurrent programs, SQL queries, and procedures in collaboration with technical teams.

Coordinate code promotion to UAT and production environments following Change Management processes.

Drive incident response, root cause analysis, and improvements using AI-powered observability tools.

Perform database patch analysis, installation, and issue resolution.

Execute backup, restore, disaster recovery, and data retention strategies across hybrid and cloud platforms.

Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python) or Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible).

Ensure adherence to internal IT policies and best practices.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Minimum 4 years of experience in database administration.

Strong knowledge of Oracle EBS (R12.2.x), Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and RMAN.

Experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+) including clustering, Always On, SSIS, and backup/restore.

Proficiency with cloud platforms like Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Azure, or AWS.

Skilled in database performance optimization, security, auditing, and compliance (SOX, HIPAA).

Hands-on system administration with Windows Server and Linux (Oracle Linux/RHEL).

Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications

Oracle or Microsoft database/cloud certifications.

Experience with cloud-native databases such as Azure SQL, Oracle Autonomous DB, Amazon Aurora, Databricks, or Snowflake.

Familiarity with AI/ML workflows and modern data architecture principles (data mesh, data fabric).

Experience in DevOps or SRE practices for databases.

Strong scripting and automation skills to streamline DBA operations.
