Senior Database Administrator

Resolve Tech Solutions is looking for a skilled Senior Database Administrator to join our innovative technology team. As a Senior Database Administrator, you will manage, optimize, and secure enterprise database systems while contributing to overall data strategy and architecture. This role requires hands-on experience with SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL, and expertise in high availability, disaster recovery, and performance tuning. The Senior Database Administrator will collaborate with developers, system administrators, and business analysts to ensure database reliability, efficiency, and compliance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities for Senior Database Administrator

• Administer, monitor, and maintain SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases in production and development environments.

• Design and implement database structures, objects, and security to support business applications.

• Ensure database availability, reliability, and security through proactive monitoring and automation.

• Perform database backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning and testing.

• Optimize queries, indexes, and overall database performance.

• Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and business analysts to support application design and deployment.

Technical Skills Required for Senior Database Administrator

• Strong expertise with SQL Server; experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.

• Proven experience in high availability (HA), clustering, replication, and disaster recovery solutions.

• Solid knowledge of cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or Google Cloud SQL).

• Understanding of database security, role-based access control, and compliance frameworks.

• Scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or Shell for automation.

• Proficiency in performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization.

Qualifications for Senior Database Administrator

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• 8+ years of professional experience as a Database Administrator in enterprise environments.

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

• Experience mentoring junior DBAs and providing technical leadership within a team.

Preferred Skills for Senior Database Administrator

• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or DynamoDB.

• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Ansible.

• Knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence tools.

• Relevant certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Oracle DBA, or AWS Certified Database Specialty.
