Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and release processes for frontend and backend ground software applications

  • Collaborate with flight software and testing teams to streamline integrated testing and release cycles across simulated and physical flight assets

  • Build and operate a secure, reliable cloud environment for ground operations software, including architecture design, deployment, and service migration from development to production environments

  • Accelerate development velocity through tooling enhancements, optimized build systems, and platform engineering support

  • Define and maintain operational procedures, implement monitoring tools, and ensure high availability and reliability of ground software systems

  • Manage core DevOps services including ArgoCD, Artifactory, GitHub Actions Marketplace, and automated security scanning tools

  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams such as InfoSec and IT to align DevOps solutions with broader organizational goals

  • Help shape the technical and cultural foundation of DevOps practices at Vast


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in application development using Python, Go, or JavaScript/TypeScript

  • Expertise in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, with preference for GitHub Actions and AWS environments

  • Strong experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation and management in cloud ecosystems

  • Proficient with Docker and Kubernetes, including administering multi-tenant clusters

  • Solid understanding of networking concepts across both traditional and cloud-based environments (e.g., OSI model, Linux networking, VPCs, routing, subnets)

  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and communication skills with a passion for DevOps culture


Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Advanced experience with Golang for building and testing distributed applications

  • Expertise in managing Kafka clusters and implementing observability tooling (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)

  • Experience enforcing security and code quality via automated scanners (SAST)

  • Familiarity with artifact registries such as Artifactory or Nexus

  • Proven ability to scale DevOps solutions in fast-paced, high-growth environments


Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range (California): $155,000 – $190,000
