Job Summary

Quicken is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead the implementation, automation, and optimization of our infrastructure and cloud platform. In this key role, you will collaborate closely with our DevOps team to ensure the performance, reliability, security, and scalability of systems supporting development, QA, and production environments. You’ll play a critical role in building the foundation for Quicken’s enterprise cloud offerings, helping us deliver best-in-class financial solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable infrastructure to support Quicken’s cloud-native microservices in product and pre-production environments on AWS.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to appropriately size infrastructure and optimize performance for cloud-hosted services.

  • Proactively troubleshoot and resolve complex systems, infrastructure, and performance issues.

  • Perform system and database administration tasks in a dynamic Agile development environment.

  • Manage, maintain, and enhance CI/CD pipelines to support rapid development and reliable releases.

  • Support and optimize data warehouse infrastructure to deliver business insights and customer analytics.

  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation, leading incident response and root cause analysis for major issues.

  • Build and sustain strong working relationships across globally distributed engineering, DevOps, product, and IT teams.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Deep understanding of modern DevOps practices and SaaS infrastructure trends.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience administering Unix/Linux environments, with strong Linux fundamentals and scripting (Shell, Python).

  • At least 3 years in a production support role for highly available, scalable systems.

  • 3+ years of experience with AWS, including services such as EC2, RDS, S3, ECS, and Route 53. Experience building secure, cloud-based solutions is essential.

  • Hands-on expertise with automation and DevOps tools like Docker, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, and Git.

  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability platforms such as Datadog and Splunk.

  • Solid knowledge of web infrastructure technologies including NGINX and PHP.

  • Strong networking background, including TCP/IP, DNS, certificates, subnets, and VPCs.

  • Experience in MySQL database administration is a plus.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Compensation:
Quicken is committed to pay equity and transparency. The anticipated salary range for this role is $155,000 – $167,000, with the final offer based on experience, location, and skillset.
