About the Role
At Kin, we’re seeking a talented and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable infrastructure that powers our development, testing, and production environments. You’ll leverage your expertise in GitHub Workflows/Actions, Terraform, and AWS to streamline and optimize our CI/CD pipelines—ensuring reliable, secure, and cost-efficient operations.
This position offers the opportunity to work on high-impact engineering challenges in collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Development, DevOps, Security, Operations, SREs, and Release Engineering.
What You’ll Do

Partner with engineers across departments to identify automation opportunities and improve development workflows.

Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Workflows and Actions.

Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for provisioning and maintaining AWS resources.

Ensure systems remain compliant with security and regulatory standards through automation and tooling.

Optimize AWS infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

Collaborate with developers to integrate DevOps practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting to support system reliability and uptime.

Stay current with industry best practices and tools to drive ongoing innovation and efficiency.
What You Bring
-
6+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or related roles, with a strong emphasis on CI/CD and infrastructure automation.

Hands-on experience with GitHub Workflows/Actions (or equivalent tools).

At least 2 years of experience with Terraform.

Solid understanding of AWS core services, including EC2, ECS, ECR, S3, RDS, IAM, and ideally Redis, DMS, Redshift (or equivalent), Glue, Lambda, and Databricks.

Proficient in shell scripting, Docker, and working with YAML configurations.

Experience automating release and change management processes.

Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Proven ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.

Quick learner with a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation.

Must be a U.S. resident legally authorized to work without visa sponsorship.

Preference for candidates in Mountain or Pacific Time Zones.

Experience with Spacelift.io for managing Terraform deployments.
