The Role: Senior DevOps Engineer
As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Kin, you’ll play a vital role in accelerating feature delivery and ensuring the scalability, reliability, and efficiency of our infrastructure. You’ll design, implement, and maintain robust infrastructure solutions supporting development, testing, and production environments. Your expertise in GitHub Workflows, Terraform IaC, and AWS will enhance our CI/CD capabilities and operational excellence.
This role is highly collaborative, engaging with peers in Engineering, Security, Operations, SRE, and Release teams to solve complex problems and drive continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do

Partner with engineers across teams to identify automation opportunities and optimize existing workflows

Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Workflows and Actions

Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions with Terraform to manage AWS environments
-
Ensure infrastructure complies with regulatory and security standards
-
Optimize performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness across AWS services
-
Integrate DevOps best practices into the software development lifecycle

Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting for high availability
-
Continuously refine tools, processes, and systems for greater efficiency

Stay current on emerging DevOps technologies and trends
What We’re Looking For
-
6+ years of experience in DevOps, with a strong background in CI/CD and infrastructure management
-
Proficiency in GitHub Workflows and Actions (or similar tools)
-
2+ years of experience with Terraform for IaC
-
Solid working knowledge of AWS core services (EC2, ECS, ECR, S3, RDS, IAM)

Bonus: Familiarity with Redis, DMS, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, Databricks

Strong skills in shell scripting, Docker, and YAML

Experience automating release and change management processes

Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
-
Clear, effective communication and collaboration skills

Comfort working in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment

Must reside in and be authorized to work full-time in the U.S.

Preference for candidates in MT or PST time zones

Experience with Spacelift.io for Terraform management

Knowledge of PostgreSQL database optimization and administration
