DevOps Engineer – New York, NY

What You’ll Do:
As a DevOps Engineer at MSG, you’ll play a critical role in designing and managing cloud infrastructure across AWS, GCP, and Azure platforms. You’ll be responsible for maintaining high-performance, scalable environments that support our digital platforms and services. This includes building infrastructure using tools like Terraform, troubleshooting full-stack issues, and ensuring secure, reliable deployments across complex systems. Occasional off-hours support may be required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing infrastructure in AWS, GCP, and Azure environments

  • Managing and maintaining cloud-based systems, with on-call support as needed

  • Using Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and automation

  • Troubleshooting across the full web and mobile stack

  • Managing high-traffic databases (MySQL, NoSQL)

  • Leveraging monitoring tools like Dynatrace for performance and reliability

  • Addressing production issues and escalating when necessary

  • Optimizing application hosting environments for performance

  • Developing documentation and training materials for automation initiatives

  • Collaborating with software teams to ensure operational readiness

  • Writing scripts to automate system operations, scaling, and server management

  • Ensuring infrastructure security and best practices are in place


What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • 5+ years of experience managing large-scale web applications on Linux (RedHat/CentOS)

  • Strong scripting abilities in Python and Shell

  • Proficiency in technologies such as Nginx, MongoDB, Node.js, PHP, JavaScript

  • Hands-on experience managing MySQL and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases

  • Expertise in building infrastructure with Terraform

  • Familiarity with tools like Git, Jenkins, and SonarQube for CI/CD

  • Deep knowledge of AWS services: EC2, Auto Scaling, ALB, CloudFront, ECS, Route 53

  • Experience working with logging systems like the ELK stack (or similar)

  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • AWS Certification is a strong advantage


Special Requirements:

  • Must be available to work weekends, overnight shifts, and holidays as needed
