Senior Devops Engineer

Job Summary

Centric Software is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to collaborate with our engineering teams in building scalable, globally deployed web applications. This role demands expertise across diverse technologies and complex infrastructures, with a strong focus on automation, reliability, and performance. The ideal candidate will have a passion for streamlining operations and architecting robust deployment strategies across on-premise and cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Bitbucket

• Implement and support continuous integration and deployment processes through automated Jenkins pipelines

• Deploy, manage, and maintain Kubernetes clusters (on-prem and cloud) using Rancher

• Architect secure, scalable microservices infrastructure following DevSecOps best practices

• Automate provisioning, updates, and backup procedures for microservices across hybrid environments

• Monitor system health, resource usage, and performance using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, or ELK Stack

• Develop and maintain automation scripts in Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages

• Manage Helm charts and other provisioning assets for deployment workflows

• Utilize Terraform to implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC)

• Diagnose and troubleshoot application issues by analyzing logs, monitoring performance, and resolving service-level challenges (Kafka, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.)

• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and cloud teams to ensure cost-effective, high-performing, and secure deployments

• Update system installers as part of new software releases

• Support customer environments by performing root cause analysis and providing operational support for microservice workloads

Required Qualifications

• Experience managing 24/7 high-availability production environments including web, application, and database servers with load balancers

• Strong scripting skills with Bash and Python

• Proficient in Docker, Kubernetes, and orchestration platforms like Rancher

• Familiarity with Kubernetes Certificate Manager and Service Mesh architectures

• In-depth experience with TLS, microservices security, and best practices

• Hands-on experience with messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ)

• Experience with both SQL (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)

• Expertise in monitoring/logging tools: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, New Relic

• Strong knowledge of Linux system administration (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS)

• Proven experience deploying on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform

• Excellent problem-solving abilities, a proactive mindset, and strong collaboration skills

• Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with diverse teams

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary Range (U.S.): $150,000 – $185,000 annually

• Final compensation is determined based on location, experience, skill set, and educational background

• In addition to base pay, this role may include variable incentive plans and a comprehensive benefits package
