The Role
As the Senior DevOps Engineer, you’ll take full ownership of Cantina’s AWS cloud infrastructure. You’ll design, deploy, and optimize systems using Terraform, while driving best practices in automation, monitoring, security, and governance. This role provides the opportunity to establish Cantina’s DevOps culture and strategy, with direct impact on the scalability and reliability of our platform.
What You’ll Do

Lead infrastructure design and automation for containerized microservices and serverless applications (ECS, EC2, Lambda).

Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using CircleCI, GitHub Actions, and Docker.

Implement monitoring, alerts, and dashboards with Datadog, Sumo Logic, and similar tools.

Optimize systems for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.

Conduct security audits, enforce AWS best practices, and manage IAM/governance policies.

Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.

Collaborate with engineering teams to assess requirements and deliver scalable solutions.

Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance across the company.
About You

Education/Experience: BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

5+ years in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or platform engineering.

Hands-on expertise with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.

Experience setting up and automating CI/CD pipelines.

Strong knowledge of AWS services (Redis, OpenSearch, Aurora PostgreSQL, Redshift, MongoDB, EC2, ECS).

Skilled in scripting (Python, Bash, Perl) for infrastructure automation.

Familiar with monitoring/alerting tools (Datadog, Sumo Logic).

Comfortable with GitHub/GitLab and container build systems.

Proven ability to take ownership and lead projects.
