CEO provides small-dollar consumer and commercial loans to refugees, immigrants, and low-income individuals, partnering with a robust national network. Since 2011, CEO has issued over $35 million in loans, with a vision to grow to a $100 million portfolio, fostering fair financial access and economic empowerment.
Role Overview
The Senior Director, Finance reports to the Executive Director and serves as a key member of the executive leadership team. This role provides vision, oversight, and accountability for finance, accounting, compliance, risk management, and administrative functions, supporting scalability, sustainability, and organizational impact.
The role requires values-driven leadership, emphasizing clarity, integrity, and transparency in financial reporting and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership

Develop and execute financial strategies to support growth and sustainability.

Lead forecasting, scenario planning, and capital modeling for expansion and investment decisions.

Provide financial data to support fundraising, grant applications, and investor relations.
Accounting, Budgeting & Operations

Oversee GAAP-compliant accounting operations and financial reporting.

Lead annual budgeting and ongoing performance forecasting.

Manage cash flow, banking relationships, reserves, and investment policies.
Audit, Compliance & Risk

Lead annual audits and maintain policies aligned with industry best practices.

Monitor regulatory compliance and mitigate risks to internal controls.
Team Leadership & Capacity Building

Supervise and develop the finance team.

Enhance financial systems and processes for efficiency and scalability.

Collaborate cross-functionally to support organizational goals and compliance.
Requirements

CPA license or graduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.

10+ years progressive finance leadership experience (nonprofit, CDFI, or social enterprise preferred).

Expertise in budgeting, financial strategy, GAAP, grant/fund accounting, and multi-source funding.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills for presenting complex financial data to non-financial audiences.

Proven experience leading high-performing teams and systems.

Commitment to economic empowerment and community development finance.
Work Environment: Fully remote; travel 3–5 times per year for conferences or meetings.
