Position Summary

Coco is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Hardware Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing the core electrical systems that power our robotic delivery vehicles. This role involves full ownership of electrical projects—from system architecture and schematic design to component selection, PCB layout, bring-up, and debugging.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Mechanical, Software, and Product, ensuring that our robots meet rigorous performance and reliability standards. Your contributions will directly impact the scalability, efficiency, and reliability of Coco’s robot fleet.

This is an in-office role. Coco supports an office-first culture to foster collaboration, innovation, and rapid problem-solving.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design the electrical architecture for robotic systems including motor drives, sensors, compute units, RF modules, and power electronics.

  • Develop and maintain schematic designs and perform detailed component selection based on performance, cost, and reliability.

  • Lead PCB layout efforts ensuring optimal signal integrity, thermal management, and manufacturability.

  • Perform testing, bring-up, and debugging of new electrical designs in lab and field environments.

  • Collaborate closely with Mechanical, Firmware, and Software teams for seamless integration of hardware components.

  • Support manufacturing by ensuring designs are scalable, cost-effective, and production-ready.

  • Apply continuous improvement strategies to increase the efficiency and reliability of existing hardware systems.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field, or equivalent professional experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design for consumer, industrial, automotive, or robotics products

  • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout using industry-standard EDA tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle, Cadence)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field

  • Experience with high-speed digital design and embedded systems

  • Familiarity with RF design and wireless communication protocols

  • Proven track record of designing for manufacturability and high-volume production

  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in real-world operating environments

  • Ability to manage projects from concept through production while balancing technical, cost, and time constraints.
