Job Summary:

Staff Accountant is supporting finance team with processing of AP and responsible for preparing and reviewing financial documents, reports, and statements. They also oversee all accounting procedures while advising on general finance matters.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the month-end close process, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, cost center analysis, and month-end reporting.
  • Process AP invoices and work with suppliers to resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
  • Prepare various monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for management.
  • Prepare monthly Sales/Use Tax filings.
  • Provide support for various special projects, as needed.
  • Provide support to physical inventory process.
  • Interact with business operations to understand the underlying reasons for changes in financial results.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years general ledger or related accounting experience with a large manufacturing company.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good time management skills; organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a deadline driven environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to identify problems and take initiative to resolve independently.
  • Strong computer skills; Excel proficiency is a must. Experience in QAD or other major ERP system is a plus.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
