Senior Information Security Analyst – Lead IA for Distance Learning Systems (Patuxent, MD)

Your Role:
As a Senior Information Security Analyst, you’ll lead the Information Assurance (IA) posture for a program focused on Distance Learning (DL) technologies and systems. You’ll be responsible for assessing vulnerabilities, implementing risk mitigation strategies, and ensuring the security of networks and systems. This includes supporting system certification and accreditation, maintaining security controls, and leading the development of compliance documentation. You’ll also troubleshoot technical issues, maintain operational equipment, and assist in staff training.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the team responsible for the Information Assurance (IA) posture of networks and systems.
- Assess system vulnerabilities and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Troubleshoot technical problems with team members.
- Maintain documentation of maintenance procedures.
- Contribute to the security of Distance Learning (DL) technologies and systems (LMS/KMS).
- Serve as a lead for system certification and accreditation efforts.
- Ensure appropriate security controls are in place for electronic infrastructure and files.
- Lead the development of documentation for compliance standards.
- Ensure equipment is maintained and operational.
- Assist in training staff on new technologies.
Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret Clearance.
- BS/BA degree and 10 years of experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in all phases of IA and cybersecurity.
- Minimum 5 years of practical experience in secure network and system design, analysis, test design, test execution, and security mechanism implementation.
- Active Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
Pay Transparency:
The salary range for this position is USD $155,700.00/Yr. – USD $260,000.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors permitted by law. AMERICAN SYSTEMS offers a comprehensive benefits program.
