About the Role
Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is inviting applications for a Senior Clinical Fellow in General and Colorectal Surgery based at Wythenshawe Hospital. This post is ideal for doctors who have completed Core Surgical Training (CST) and passed the MRCS examination.
The fellowship offers extensive exposure to general and colorectal surgery, including pelvic floor surgery and emergency general surgery. You will benefit from consultant-led training in the operating theatre and take part in clinics, theatre lists, and education of junior medical staff.
Key Responsibilities

Participate in outpatient clinics, theatre sessions, and emergency operating lists

Provide senior cover as part of the 1:10 on-call rota at ST level

Gain hands-on experience in general and colorectal surgical procedures

Teach and support foundation doctors and medical students

Engage in audit, quality improvement, and research projects

Take part in leadership and service development initiatives
Candidate Requirements

Completed Core Surgical Training (CST)

Passed MRCS examination

Strong interest in general and colorectal surgery

Able to work full-time or open to flexible working arrangements

Excellent communication and teamwork skills
