The Role
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Social Media — a hybrid strategist and creative storyteller who will shape and scale Sol de Janeiro’s social presence globally.
In this role, you will develop editorial calendars, content pillars, and campaign narratives that put our brand at the forefront of culture. You will act as the architect of the SDJ story across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, and emerging platforms, blending brand strategy with cultural fluency to drive engagement and build a lasting community.
This position reports to the Director of Social Media, Content & Community and requires strong creative leadership, social instincts, and trend awareness.
What You’ll Do

Lead and manage Sol de Janeiro’s social editorial calendar and storytelling strategies.

Create platform-native content narratives that connect brand goals with cultural trends.

Drive always-on content, major brand campaigns, and real-time cultural moments.

Brief and collaborate with creators, freelancers, and cross-functional partners.

Identify new platform opportunities to keep the brand fresh and relevant.

Partner with global and regional teams to showcase on-the-ground and digital brand experiences.

Own social reporting and analytics, translating insights into actionable strategies.

Collaborate with community managers, influencer teams, and brand partners for cohesive execution.
What We’re Looking For

5–7 years of experience in social media strategy, creative strategy, or digital brand storytelling (brand, publisher, or agency).

Portfolio showcasing platform-native content, editorial storytelling, and campaign ideas.

Strong expertise in TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts.

Deep cultural fluency with a pulse on emerging trends and social behaviors.

Strong editorial voice and the ability to craft narratives that resonate.

Proven success in translating brand goals into social-first strategies.

Excellent writing, briefing, and communication skills.

Comfortable leading change, working cross-functionally, and inspiring creative collaboration.

Based in the NYC metro area with ability to work 3 days in-office weekly.
