Senior Medical Director Global Safety

We’re seeking an accomplished Senior Medical Director Global Safety to lead safety strategy and oversight for clinical and post-marketed products in the rapidly evolving cell therapy field. As a Senior Medical Director Global Safety, you’ll act as the company’s safety subject matter expert (SME), driving risk management, regulatory communication, and team leadership. This role offers exceptional growth potential, with a clear path toward becoming Head of Safety as the organization expands into metabolic and advanced therapy areas.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Medical Director Global Safety

• Oversee safety analysis for clinical trials and marketed products.

• Serve as the Safety Strategy SME across all global functions.

• Lead clinical safety aggregate reports and develop risk mitigation strategies.

• Manage global risk minimization programs (RMPs).

• Organize and lead Safety Management Team (SMT) meetings.

• Respond to health authority safety and regulatory queries.

• Perform signal detection, management, and strategy implementation.

• Ensure safety surveillance and oversight of assigned products and CROs.

• Lead and mentor safety scientists and operations team members.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with clinical, regulatory, and medical affairs teams.

• Provide expert safety input during clinical study design phases.

Qualifications for the Senior Medical Director Global Safety Role

• Medical degree (MD or foreign equivalent).

• Minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical or biotech safety experience.

• Strong background in cell therapy or myeloma (required).

• Proven experience with IND and BLA/NDA submissions.

• Demonstrated leadership in safety meetings and team management.

• Excellent communication, analytical, and strategic planning skills.
