The Role:
Join our growing Infrastructure team as a Network Engineer and play a key role in shaping our networking strategy and foundation. You’ll tackle challenging problems in a fast-paced environment, working on building and operating the software that connects us to our customers and developing software-defined networking solutions for autonomous deployment management.
What You’ll Do:
- Be the primary technical contact for establishing initial network connectivity with customers.
- Proactively monitor network services to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Apply your understanding of diverse network implementation patterns across various organizational sizes.
- Collaborate with customers to maintain healthy IPSec/VPN connections between our platform and their on-premise systems.
- Partner with Deployment Strategists and customers during the data ingestion process.
- Create and maintain thorough network documentation (topology diagrams, configurations, SOPs).
- Participate in on-call rotations as needed.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of Network Engineering experience* directly engaging with customers to understand and solve their technical challenges, with the ability to clearly explain your solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for effective teamwork across distributed Engineering and Deployment teams.
- Familiarity with AWS or cloud-native network architectures (GCP, Azure).
- Strong understanding of core network protocols: LACP, Ethernet, VLANs, ARP, TCP/IP, Routing Protocols, DHCP, DNS, NAT.
- Proven experience implementing, supporting, and troubleshooting IPSec/VPN services on both physical and virtual firewall platforms.
- Basic understanding of Kubernetes architecture and related components.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (KVM, VMware, Citrix, Hyper-V).
- Hands-on experience using packet capture tools (Wireshark, tcpdump, VPC flow logs) for network issue resolution.
- Experience utilizing open-source and third-party network troubleshooting tools (ncat, ping, traceroute, dig, nslookup).
- Located in New York and willing to work in the office.
