Symmetrio is hiring multiple Senior Network Engineers to lead a major enterprise network transformation for a large government client. This role focuses on Juniper MX960 router implementation and the transition from MC-LAG to EVPN/VXLAN fabrics. As a Senior Network Engineer, you’ll design, validate, and deploy multi-overlay fabrics while executing high-impact migrations in live production environments. This is a 12-month contract with potential extension, offering $110,000–$150,000 annually. The role is fully remote with quarterly travel to Philadelphia.

Senior Network Engineer Responsibilities
The Senior Network Engineer will:

Lead planning and execution of Juniper MX960 router migrations.

Design and validate scalable EVPN/VXLAN multi-overlay architectures.

Collaborate with customer teams to ensure smooth integrations.

Configure, test, and deploy Junos OS on MX and EX platforms.

Guide the migration from MC-LAG to EVPN fabrics, including design and troubleshooting.

Provide SME-level support for Juniper routing and advanced protocols.

Develop detailed documentation for design, cutovers, and post-migration processes.

Support after-hours cutovers and provide escalation support during critical events.
Skills Needed for a Senior Network Engineer
A Senior Network Engineer should bring:

7+ years of experience in enterprise or large data center networking.

5+ years working with Juniper MX and EX platforms.

Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, and advanced routing protocols.

Hands-on Junos OS configuration and troubleshooting expertise.

Experience leading router replacements and migration projects.

Familiarity with EVPN/VXLAN design and operations.

Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
