Key Responsibilities

Implement network infrastructure following established design standards.
Maintain and perform routine updates on routers, switches, and firewalls.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex networking issues in an enterprise Internet/Extranet environment.
Collaborate professionally with customers and vendors to define and refine network design requirements.
Provide multi-level network support, ranging from Level 1 to Level 4.
Participate in on-call rotations to ensure operational continuity.
Perform occasional first-level server support tasks, including hardware installation and maintenance.
Travel to Fidessa Data Centers in New Jersey as needed.
Engage in international travel (Canada, Mexico, Chile, Brazil) for approximately two weeks per year.

Shift Schedule

Two available shifts:
- Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Monday – Friday, 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM
Weekend work as required (typically twice a month for a few hours, with additional compensation).
Participation in an on-call rotation with additional pay.

Required Experience & Competencies

6+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering.
Strong hands-on expertise in configuring Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls using CLI.
Experience with Cisco routers/switches and Arista switches.
Enterprise-level proficiency with firewalls such as Checkpoint, Juniper SRX, and Palo Alto.
Deep understanding of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, PIM, RIP).
Expertise in Layer 2 protocols, including STP, 802.1q, VPC, and LACP.
Knowledge of traffic engineering and Quality of Service (QoS) principles.
Skilled in configuring and troubleshooting VPNs.
Proficiency in network packet capture and analysis.
Experience creating network diagrams using Microsoft Visio.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals.
Familiarity with network monitoring systems such as PRTG and Nagios.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of taking ownership of tasks.
Ability to maintain composure under pressure and deliver high-quality service.
Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative and customer-focused mindset.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle for travel to New Jersey data centers.

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
Experience with network automation tools.
Familiarity with automation technologies such as Ansible and Python.
Background in fintech, finance, or banking industries is a significant plus.
