We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Senior Oncology Research RN to join our Clinical Trials Office (CTO). This position involves performing advanced professional nursing functions, supporting oncology research protocols, and delivering exceptional patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians during patient examinations and ensure all necessary information and documentation are prepared in advance.

  • Collect biological specimens (e.g., blood, urine) for laboratory testing or shipment, and record vital signs including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiration, and weight.

  • Schedule, coordinate, and follow up on patient appointments; provide guidance and education to patients, families, and caregivers.

  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation of laboratory results, medical records, and clinical data.

  • Administer prescribed medications under physician guidance and collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure quality patient care.

  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies such as anaphylaxis, respiratory distress, or hemorrhaging, providing immediate and appropriate interventions.

  • Lead and oversee support staff including clinic clerks, medical assistants, and nurses, functioning as a lead team member with minimal supervision.

  • Assist with conscious sedation during clinical procedures.

  • Perform additional duties as required to support patient care and research activities.


Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with at least 12 months of RN experience in oncology or clinical research,
    OR

  • Associate degree in Nursing with 24 months of RN experience for a total of 36 months professional nursing experience.

Licensure & Certifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Oklahoma

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification


Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical techniques for diagnosing and treating health conditions, including drug interactions and preventive care.

  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.

  • Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—with the ability to actively listen, respond appropriately, and provide clear patient education.

  • Professional demeanor with the ability to handle high-pressure situations, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively with diverse teams.

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Proficiency in basic computer and math skills; ability to collect and analyze patient data accurately.

  • Capacity to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, faculty, students, and patients.

  • Effective problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to clinical care.
