Key Responsibilities

Process semi-monthly and bi-weekly payroll for 400+ employees across the U.S. and Canada
-
Complete year-end reporting and reconciliation with government agencies (CRA, Ministry of Finance)

Reconcile and prepare year-end tax forms, including T4s and W-2s
-
Generate regular and ad hoc payroll reports as needed
-
Address employee inquiries related to payroll, tax deductions, and 401(k) plans

Maintain accurate payroll records, including changes to exemptions, deductions, garnishments, and manual checks

Track and report non-taxable wages and contractor payments

Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies

Prepare and reconcile general ledger entries related to payroll

Support various internal and external audits (e.g., 401(k), financial, workers’ compensation, and 5500 filings)

Manage workers’ compensation reporting and payments on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis

Respond to employment verifications and unemployment insurance requests

Assist with additional accounting duties as needed
Qualifications

Degree in business, accounting, or a related field (preferred)

Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience, preferably with ADP Workforce Now
-
Strong knowledge of U.S. and Canadian payroll laws and tax regulations

High level of accuracy, discretion, and attention to detail

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization

Able to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Strong organizational and time management skills

Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently when needed
Compensation
Salary Range: $80,000–$90,000 annually
