About the role

The position is at a tech company. We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Senior People Operations Specialist to oversee critical tasks in Compliance and Benefits Management, Employee Relations and Engagement, and Employee Lifecycle Management.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, monitor, and update organizational policies and processes to guarantee legal compliance and cultural congruence.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for our US-based personnel. Familiarity with both non-exempt and exempt workforces is essential for success in this job, with a particular emphasis on FMLA/Reasonable Accommodations for our non-exempt workforce.
  • Oversee and manage benefit administration, ensuring that workers understand and use available programs.
  • Stay up to date on benefit trends and offers to maintain our competitiveness and ability to satisfy the demands of the company and its employees.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with our third-party benefit and payroll suppliers, such as the PEO and 401(K) platforms.
  • Maintain third-party platforms and function as a point of contact for their maintenance and related inquiries.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for employee relations concerns, providing complete knowledge and timely resolution with an emphasis on justice and inclusivity.
  • Create and implement programs to increase employee engagement, establish a healthy workplace culture, and retain top talent.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to plan employee engagement events and activities, helping to foster a coherent business culture.
  • Support daily HR activities, such as employee data administration, leave of absence monitoring, and file maintenance.
  • Lead the improvement of core HR activities to guarantee efficiency and compliance across the employee lifecycle.
  • Extract and analyze employee data.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of performance management programs, such as goal setting, performance evaluations, and career development plans.
  • Support learning and development programs that will help workers advance in their jobs and align with the company’s talent development strategy.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years (minimum) of experience in Human Resources / People Operations, with a strong emphasis on compliance, employee interactions, and benefits administration. Understanding of US employment rules and regulations.
  • Experience in fast-growing or start-up contexts is advantageous.
  • Experienced in employee engagement and relations, with a track record of resolving problems and increasing employee satisfaction.
  • Excellent organizing abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication abilities, allowing for successful interaction at all levels of the business.
  • SHRM-CP and/or PHR certification is desirable.
  • Experience dealing with PEOs and third-party vendors is advantageous.
