Job Overview
ByteDance is seeking a Security Systems Engineer to join our Physical Security System and Technology Team. This team safeguards workplace security using advanced technologies, oversees global operations and upgrades of physical security systems (Lenel, Hikvision, Avigilon, etc.), and manages physical security-related data. The role combines technical problem-solving, vendor management, and systems maintenance at a global scale.
Key Responsibilities

Provide technical support, document issues, analyze root causes, recommend solutions, and deliver reports to management

Guide internal R&D teams on SQL database connectivity and integration with security systems

Coordinate with security system vendors, ensuring timely resolution of escalated issues and providing updates to leadership

Act as primary liaison to vendors, including attending periodic meetings

Perform system health checks and global upgrades to maintain secure, stable operations

Enhance existing software capabilities, create system testing protocols, and validate upgrades
Minimum Qualifications

Background in Computer Science, IT, Programming & Systems Analysis, or related field

Experience with programming languages (Shell, Python, SQL)

Experience in large-scale distributed applications, databases, operating systems, or server management
Preferred Qualifications

Highly self-motivated, with problem-solving and project development skills

Certification/training in Lenel physical security systems
Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $92,800 – $193,378 annually (depending on skills, experience, and location)
