About The Role:

Symmetry Software, now part of Gusto, is seeking an experienced Product Manager to drive the strategy and execution of new payroll tax products to expand our client base and increase revenue. This is a 0 to 1 focused role offering significant autonomy to lead discovery, strategy, and execution for new products in payroll tax. As a key member of the small and fast-paced Symmetry Product team, you’ll have a unique opportunity to improve the product development process. This is a builder role reporting to Symmetry Software’s Head of Product.

Our goal is to expand our value within the payroll service provider industry by addressing more challenges impacting over 64 million paychecks annually. Here’s What You’ll Do:

  • Lead a cross-functional team working on prototypes for new payroll tax products.
  • Define the strategy and roadmap for these new offerings.
  • Collaborate with clients, engineers, and cross-functional partners to execute the roadmap and prioritize decisions.
  • Develop a framework and metrics to measure business impact.
  • Execute hypothesis-driven experiments, iterate, and ship to customers frequently.
  • Drive improvements to the Symmetry product development lifecycle.

Here’s What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years of hands-on product management experience, including 2+ years successfully building 0 to 1 products.
  • Proven track record in 0 to 1 product development, with bonus points for experience in regulated categories or using Gen AI/ML.
  • Strong product discovery skills and comfort navigating ambiguity.
  • A builder mentality with strong product intuition and the ability to lead effective product development teams.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to evaluate options, make tradeoffs, and articulate a clear plan.
  • Excellent collaboration and trust-building skills.
  • Experience with payroll/payroll tax products is a plus.
  • Targeted cash compensation: $144,000/yr – $178,000/yr (depending on location and experience).

Symmetry has a physical office in Scottsdale, with employees expected to work from the office a few days per week. Remote work requires a secure and reliable internet connection.
