Your Role as a Senior Residential Care Worker
At Horizon, we believe that every young person deserves a bright future. As a Senior Residential Care Worker, you will play a crucial role by supporting young people in all aspects of their daily lives within our homes.
Your responsibilities will include:

Encouraging hobbies, social activities, and the building of friendships

Helping young people develop new skills and explore new opportunities

Conducting staff supervisions and leading shifts effectively

Managing the home during the absence of the Deputy Manager or Home Manager
-
Overseeing health and safety measures and monitoring risk assessments
-
Inducting new colleagues into the home

Ensuring the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people
Key Duties of a Senior Residential Care Worker
As part of your daily work, you will:

Support young people to build their self-confidence and independence

Effectively direct and guide your colleagues during shifts

Help manage and maintain a safe, nurturing environment for everyone

Deliver a positive role model experience and support the overall running of the home

Assist with both planned and spontaneous activities that support young people’s development
